Very encouraging as far as losses go. Just felt like we had too many live ball turnovers that led to easy scores. There had to have been at least 15 points there (breakaway baskets plus Haggerty's and 1). Super proud of Sissoko's performance. That wasn't on my basketball bingo card.
Not really an exhaustive list but this is what stood out to me.
- We just dominated them on the glass with a defensive rebounding rate of 81.8% while grabbing over 40% of available offensive rebounds on our end. The rebounding performance is even better than the box score counting stats would indicate due to it being a low possession game and Memphis shooting a high percentage from the field. For context both of those percentages would be at the top of the NCAA over a full season. Memphis is a really good offensive rebounding team too. The rebounding won't be that lopsided again.
- Low possession game. The game was played at our pace. If Memphis can better dictate the pace then they can be more effective on both ends.
