Second Annual Football Clinic for Women Set for August 3

DENTON (7/18/06) - The second annual Mean Green football clinic for women is set for Thursday, August 3 at 6 pm at the North Texas Athletic Center.

For the second year in a row, North Texas head football coach Darrell Dickey and his staff will conduct a clinic for women. “Football 101” will offer women the opportunity to ask questions concerning college football, and have the NT coaching staff provide the insight and answers. Mean Green football players will also make appearances.

The football clinic will also include favors, hors d'oeuvres and cocktails.

Advance registration for the event is required by July 28 and can be made by calling Mandy McKinley at 940-369-7034, by e-mail at mckinley@unt.edu or submitting the form at the top of the page. The cost of the clinic is $20.00.

No, that isn't necessary.

Just having your wife/girlfriend stand up and ask "isn't thowing on first down, a good technique for keeping a defense honest? My (husband/boyfriend) says that that concept just never occurs to you" would be embarrassing enough.

Or! have your wife/girlfriend stand up and ask "Coach, why does my (husband/boyfriend) always say that the whole damn stadium knows what play your going to run on 3rd and long?"

Frankly, I think this is a great idea, and although my wife would look at me as if I were insane if I asked her to go, I've heard that they are really a lot of fun.
