Allen H.S. has a kid who fits the UNT profile, a little undervalued but highly capable - a lot like Patrick Cobbs and would be a good fit here. Has anyone else seen him play? I think he has the potential to be the next great back - good hands, good speed and intelligent. Here's a good video profile if you haven't seen or heard of him.

Is that Professor Sammy Sauls...or another?

The only problem I see is that he's a 3 star prospect.

I don't see him "slipping" to us. (of course J Mo was a 3 star guy) But he's been very good the last 2 years for Allen. He was the 8-5A district newcomer of the yr as a Sophomore. He had a great year last season...may have been even better if he wasn't knicked up late in the season.

...I did see him play during his Soph. yr BTW. He had a really good burst and was one of the best athletes on the field as a 10th grader.

Thanks for the welcome, and I have to admit - I am not Sammy. He was my favorite teacher during my years there (89-91). You guys might be right, injuries slowed him last year and he maybe off to greener pastures but I'd keep an eye on him this year, I think he could help us if we can get him. There's always a good running back out there that slips and UNT has a great history of finding them. This guy might be one of them, time will tell.

I watched some of his video on that link. He's got some good moves, he's powerful, and he's reasonably fast. But he's no Jamario. JT is in a whole different class compared to this guy. Boy I hope JT can stay healthy this year.

So do you remember what the greatest rock album of all time, according to Sammy Sauls, is?

I'm assuming of course he threw this out to all his classes during his monolagues.

Nice job of breaking tackles in the first clip.

I only saw one pass to him? That was the second clip? So the question on him is can he catch out of the backfield?
