I noticed that Vidal Carlin and Dick Lindsay were up for Hall of Honors at UNT. Does anyone know what they are doing these days. I remember Carliln when he played at Tyler Junior College

I don't know what either are doing now and I question that either should be in the NT Hall of Fame.

Carlin was a good quarterback, make no mistake, but as you say, he spent half of his career at TJC. He is still in the Top 10 career passing leaders at North Texas, but behind Jason Mills, whom I also don't consider HOF material.

Again, Dick Lindsay was a very good lineman but no better than A.D. Cate or A.V. Collins, both teammates. Maybe it's because Cate and Collins are both deceased and they want to honor Lindsay while he's alive.

Another in this year's class is Vic Roderiguez. Vic was a great person who went on to become a school superintendent in San Antonio. But, as an athlete, he wasn't the best miler on his team. If Vic deserves HOF honors then so does Boyd Dollar, who often lost by inches to the great Bobby Morrow.

It just seems to me that we are dropping from outstanding or great careers to good or very good careers.
