It is the funniest thing here in Austin. If you did not know then here is the skinny. Austin Longhorns are the city's team. It does not matter if you went to college or not they are the lead story on every news channel.

When I go to partys and bbques I talk to Longhorn fans. About 80% did not go there. Even people from Texas State, UTSA, SFA show lifelong support for UT. It is like any other big city college. UNT will never get to this point since we compete with the Dallas Cowboys.

UT is the cities pro team. Coupled with the fact that they have a large Alunmi base due to enrollment then yes you can raise a baby from birth. However, if that baby does not get in to UT then you have what is called a Texas State (UT fan BABY)

By the way Austin thinks that Dallas is full of Snobs.

OH yeah? Well Dallas thinks that Austin is full of hippies and homeless people.  So there.  tongue.gif

---Let's not forget those selfish crooks in Austin that hang around that BIG pink granite building on Congress street. .... LOL .... they are far from homeless and not many are hippies, beatniks, kooks. whatever...

---While is Chicago a couple of weeks ago I saw several Texas hats and shirts (half dozen or so, probably visitors)... in fact I saw more of them that I did of their local colleges. Those folks do not wear "college clothing" much. I did not once see a Michigan, Wisconsin or Minnesota shirt or hat and not too many with Illinois or DePaul on them.

---After seeing an earlier thread about spotting NT clothing elsewhere I decided to pay attention to college items while traveling. I saw one Aggie hat and even North Texas once when a person was using a backpack with UNT (the old star) on it. Those guys are not anything like around here where college items are worn year around. Very few were seen. As for pro sports about all I saw on the street was several White Sox shirts and hats, not too many Cubs, and even less Chicago Bears.

---When returning to Midland I probably saw more colleges represented in our local airport than I had seen in Chicago in an entire week....strange. It seems that there is more Michigan stuff worn here than there.
