It's time to start planning for this fall's tailgating. I recently ordered this tailgating flagpole kit from Sam's. It's the best buy that I've found.

I would also recommend the cooler illustrated on this page for people who tailgate in a large group. It's available at most of the stores for about $149.00

If anyone needs a North Texas Battle Flag, you can get one for a reasonable price from American Dream Flags, 817-221-5490. They'll ship it to you.

If anyone else has any suggestions for tailgating products, please add to this thread.

As mentioned in another thread, I've not given up on the idea of a group (hopefully a large one) of North Texas fans riding Amtrak down to the UT game. Let me know if you're interested. Unless you can get a ride back with someone right after the game, you'll end up staying two nights in Austin. It could be a lot of fun!

the only place to get coolers is the Coleman outlet in Hillsboro. two years ago my large cooler finaly gave way and I just happened to be down there a week or so later. I bought this one

for $21. two years later, no problems to speak of, it still holds ice for 7 days.

If your into doing your own cooking for a small group, here's a neat Weber grill that uses propane. You can buy similar cheaper grills at Lowes that are less expensive but they are not Webers.

Or, here's a neat Igloo 60 qt. Cube Ice Chest for $44.89. I can't tell you where to buy it 'cause Harry would kick me off the board for advertising, but for Mean Green fans, they would go for $39.95, plus tax and shipping. rolleyes.gifcool.gifrolleyes.gif

for grilling I have a stainless steel smoker mounted onto a trailer hitch reciever that I am eager to get cooking this year. I have used it once on a camping trip and it is perfect. I dont know where to get one like I have (mine was custom made) but here is a link to a neat propane one I found:

it is small, but it looks durable and easy to use.

Just in case some of you wanted one of those new folding recliners that are popular with the RV (recreational vehicle) crowd, Wal-Mart is starting to close out them out. Here is what they look like on-line.

At my local Wal-Mart they are selling them for $30 dollars.

You got me fired-up, one question does the recliner have a drink holder? I need to know the important stuff!!

I gots the tailgating on the brain from little rays of sunshine, Mama says.

No they don't have drink holders. However, Wal-mart does sell (in the garden dept) the standard fold-out chairs for about $10 and they are the kelly green that we use now.
