My recent trip to a Wal-Mart

I was in a Wal-Mart in North Fort Worth (White Settlement) and noticed a display of college hats. They had the "usual suspects" but they also had a hat very similar to this one.

Except that the color scheme was maroon/stone instead of stone/maroon.

It didn't say "Texas State" anywhere on it, but it was a CLC licensed product, and it said "Bobcats" on the back. It was a very nice unstructured all-cotton hat. It was very reasonably priced.

Imagine that! A 1-AA University that is selling their hats, hundreds of miles away from their main campus, through a large volume retailer.

Can I assume from this experience that I can find a similar North Texas hat (unstructured all-cotton) at least at a Denton Wal-Mart?

Interesting. I was at the gym the other day and a patron was wearing a Texas State t-shirt. The first one I'd ever seen. Then driving home a kid on a bike was wearing one too. Later that same evening, at the grocery store, I saw a lady wearing one. Coincedence, or just good marketing.

Why do people harp on this? If we (the fans) are as willing to join the WAC, then we should be more then willing to pay (as in $$$) for it, like increased ticket prices in all sports. If we had more people in the MGC, season ticket holders, and fans in the stands, we might be able to afford the WAC. The truth is we don't and we can't.

We're asked every year by way of season ticket purchases, attendance at all sports, athletic department donations, etc. Each year, as a whole, we say no thanks.

What examples do you have of schools who ask for advice on their vision statement/major decisions for athletics?

If you're going to bitch, then bitch about the fact that we have no agenda or long term plan, but don't think its your job (or anyone's job on here) to make those decisions. If they wanted you as AD, they'll make an offer as soon as Rick catches on somewhere else...

I wouldn't man the phone just yet though, but you never know. You seem very capable. You have my vote. Oh, f$$%$, I don't have a vote.

This process sucks.
