I saw the fancy smancy Mean Green Bus this morning parked out front of Gene's Body Shop on S. Elm. I didn't see any damage and I wondered if it was ther to replace the Craig Helwig era decals with the new and improved North Texas logo.

Seems to me that this would need to be changed quickly so as to show off when it is (surely) taken to Austin for the UT game.

And by the way, I haven't seen ONE North Texas vehicle with the new logo. I'm sure if one were to ask, the reply would be that there isn't the staff available to do the job. Is this something the GOMEANGREEN nation would be interested in doing ?

Some of the police cars have the new logo............it just isn't the athletic logo. It is the one with University of North Texas spelled out.

How much money did NT spend on the new logo? You know, logogate. Didn't they hire this big marketing firm, then presented the findings to committees, etc., to aproved the new signage and wordmarks. How much did all of this cost?

I think the price tag was somewhere between $250 and $500K. I have to admit I'm a little disappointed with how little we're seeing the new logos. The bookstores have done a decent job of getting the new stuff on the shelves, but you can still find plenty of the stupid parrot eagle and even the gold and blue star.

With UNT's budget, I don't see the point in putting a new paint job on the 92 POS's driving around campus. Now building signs and other such things should be changed to add the new logos.

But Bone, if the University owned vehicles (POS) don't use the new stuff, why would we expect anyone else to do so. Also, the only thing more expensive than the new logo is the new logo not used. If this is the new look, let's get it out. The sooner, the better.

And how much could it cost ? $25 or $35 per door ? $35. x 172 doors =$6,020.

That's a lot I grant you, but we didn't change logos to save money.

Money could have been better spent on Assistant Coach's salaries.

That is a gross overestimation of the cost.

It wasn't anything over 5 figures if i remember correctly.

You're right. I did overestimate, but it's still 6 figures. According to the NT Daily article (I realize the vulnerability of my source), the total cost was about $150K. The link to the article is here.

      A troll? I have been a fan, including student and alumni, since 1965. Think you've got me mistaken with someone else. 1. Do that every year. 2. Shirt giveaway for last night's retro night. They called it "Retro Night" and did nothing retro other than give out t's to the first 500 fans. How did they market that? Email to alumni and ticket holders three or four days prior. 3. Do people really look at the schedule and decide that frisbee dogs will make them attend? 4. Denton student day. I am assuming you are referencing the 11am tip-off women's game that, by nature of the tip time, limits attendance to those students. Sorry, I see a lack of creativity and effort because they were doing these same things in the mid 70's when I attended as a kid. I am well aware that we don't choose the announcers. Not by point. Do I think they provided them with incorrect information? Nope, that topic was probably never addressed in the production meeting, but someone from the department should be monitoring the broadcast to correct stupid comments like the one mentioned last night and referenced above. He was complimentary of UNT during the broadcast, but he pulled that "fact" out of his ass and someone should be there to correct them.

      Adding Texas State feels like such an easy call to me. It would be good for attendance and give our fans another easy road game.

      The prestige of the PAC is dead, and @NorthTexasWeLove is right: we are entering an era (if we aren't there already lol) where geography is a much bigger priority for non-Power leagues. I hope we do away with this notion that we should share a G conference with California or Washington schools. It's already a whip that we are in one with schools that sit just off the eastern coast. I don't get the idea of if-Tigers-go-we-need-to-follow. I think it makes more sense to be attached to Texas State than Memphis.

      First of all, I know you're a troll and have been for many years. Over the past 10 years, you probably don't have 5 positive posts on this board. However, to answer your question (1) discount and multi game ticket packages offered, (2) shirt give aways, (3) various forms of half-time performances, (4) Denton student day. You wanted 1 there's 4! If you would like to provide the AD with an unlimited marketing budget to do what you would like then go ahead! As for the announcers, NT doesn't control who ESPN sends. If they mistake on air that's on them. Do you really believe our SID gave them incorrect information? I listened to Hank's interview with the announcer in the pre-game show. He was very knowledgeable and complimentary of NT. If he made a mistake, it was just that...a mistake. It wasn't because he didn't know anything about NT or we intentionally gave him incorrect information.

      Power Conferences making their move to take full control

      Here in Florida the SEC homers are using SMU's presence in the playoff to "prove" that the ACC is not a legitimate Power conference. Heard it on Jacksonville sports radio this morning from a host who went to UF. The game's rigged for the big dogs and they keep making their club more exclusive all the time. Everybody else in the FBS is the Washington Generals. I wish the G5 schools would create their own organization to work together more strongly for a future that doesn't suck.
