Opening Night on June 6, 7:35pm

Baseball's back in Denton! The Denton Outlaws of the Texas Collegiate League open their season next Tuesday, June 6th at 7:35pm at Denton Ryan High School vs. the Coppell Copperheads. Team owners Jim Leslie and Todd Van Poppel will honor the Outlaws for winning the 2006 TCL Championship with a special ring ceremony prior to the game. Miss Texas Morgan Matlock will also make an appearance and the Outlaws new mascot will finally be unveiled. The first 250 fans to enter the field will receive complimentary thundersticks to cheer the Outlaws to an Opening Night Win! Tickets are just $5 for adults and $3 for kids 12 & under.

UNT Night on Friday June 9, 7:35pm

On Friday, the Outlaws will honor the University of North Texas, and specifically, their athletics program. Top UNT football star Johnny Quinn will throw out the first pitch, and members of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity will perform the National Anthem. Also, UNT Athletics will have a special tent set up to give you information on the upcoming athletics seasons, and they'll have some free goodies!

Best of all, UNT Students and Alumni will receive admission to the game for just $2! Call (940) 382-9396 to get your tickets, or just show up at the gate.

Denton legend Rudy's to provide concessions at all Outlaws home games in 2006

Why has there not been a statement regretting that the Outlaws could not follow through on their original promise to fund a ballpark on the UNT campus? I can understand that things might not have gone as they intended last year but to totally ignore the situation left a bitter taste.

I do wish the Outlaws success, though.
