I was looking at the records of all our coaches in North Texas history.

The alarming thing is.. we've not employed a head football coach with a winning record since John Hayden Fry. Hayden had one losing season (1974) when the Mean Green went 2-7-2.

The point is...we are at some sort of crossroads every year. We've built great facilities, including the New Athletic Center. No more excuses about not being able to recruit, right? Then last season's complete "thud" heard 'round the world of football ranking Gods, who put us at 105 out of 119 D-1A schools.

Send in the Clowns We might do better!

Fry: In his last three years he lost 7 games to: Texas [26-16, 17-14] , Florida State [21-20, 35-14, Miss. St.[17-5],SMU [38-31] , and Okla. St. [16-10].

A lot of good teams and no embarrassing losses, mostly when given little or no chance to win. Only one loss was more than 10 points.
