Tucker reportedly hires agent, won’t return to Longhorns

Texas forward P.J. Tucker reportedly has signed with an agent, making him ineligible to return to the Longhorns.

ESPN.com quoted Tucker as saying, “”I’m leaving. It’s a done deal. If you don’t hire an agent, it’s too costly to do it without breaking any of the rules. Either you should do it or don’t.”

Tucker last month put his name into the NBA draft pool. Until he signed with an agent — reportedly agent Leon Rose — he could change his mind, withdraw his name from the draft and return to Texas for his senior year. That door apparently now is closed.
