Just talked with him and he's very excited and ready for the challenge. He told me it still hasn't really sunk in yet.

The story that he relayed (shortened version) was that the Player Personel Director was calling people over to the side yesterday and letting them go. He wasn't called over, so he went ahead and got dressed for practice and attended practice (even though he missed his flight home). Finally when practiced ended, he was informed that he was being offered a free agent contract. Once the day was finally over (around 5:00pm), he turned on his cell phone and he had a message from his agent (at 12:00 noon) that he had been offered a deal! He put himself through 5 hours of worry, that he could have avoided, if his phone was on!

Anyway, he's happy and he is ready to work.

Good stuff GMoney. I guess the coaching staff just figured he knew by that point. Well, he has gotten over the first mountain...........he is getting paid to play football. Next up is making the team in some form.

Wow, I couldn't be happier!

I guess 40 times only determine where you get drafted (or not)...and not whether you can make it in a game situation! But we already knew that!

Awesome!

Hopefully Patrick can beat out Patrick Pass (12 games last year) or Heath Evens (6) for FB position. It will take 2 key injuries for him to replace Corry Dillion or Kevin Faulk at RB.

But in the NFL...anything is possible.

Go Patrick Cobbs!!!!

nuts...now I have to root for the Patriots... dry.gif

Not to mention the Pats drafted Laurence Maroney from Minnesota in the first round to add depth...

I forgot about the draft pick.

Crap.

That puts PC about 4th on the chart. Hope he can impress the Special Teams coach.
