Jamario led the nation in rushing again. Woody Wilson had a remarkable season that began with a huge scare for UT. Issac Thomas was a 1st team All Sun Belt selection at nosetackle. Dylen Lineberry was a top 3 finisher for the Lombardi trophy. Johnny Quinn is a 2nd team all american and Brandon Jackson has a big time year.

There is hope again for the Mean Green nation. The 2005 season is a distant memory.

But wait there is more. UNT hires a new president that is a bigger supporter of athletics than Dr. Pohl. One of the first mandates that she lays down is that UNT will construct a brand new state of the art football stadium at eagle point. There is no we hope this will happen by x. They set a date and ask the alumni to make it happen. Several large donors step up immediately and enough money is raised to start construction.

LJ gets the Law School approved this time around and UNT Dallas' enrollment skyrockets.

RV gets a contract extension and Darrell Dickey agrees to coach at UNT until he retires.

As far as the season goes, it's happened before when we played against tU early in the season. 1988. I was there to see the Mean Green go 3-0 against the Southwest Conference. Even though we ended up not winning our own 1-AA conference it turned out to be a very memorable season for us. Since that season I have never again seen us covered by the local news channels so often. I recorded nearly every news report. There were ones on Corky, a report on Scott Davis, one on Sidney "MAD DOG" Bradford and the dog defense that he led, and several others. Several times I would go over to the AD dept to pick up signs and flyers for Talons and there would be a news truck out front.

If our new prez' is a "she" and she out does Norval Pohl with her support of athletics, all power to her and a statue in her honor upon her retirement would more than be in order!

Some of the other "what ifs" are interesting, though.
