North Texas will stun UT and their young talented, but inexperienced QB's. They think DD will not have the Mean Green prepared. Problem for The Longhorns is...they will be awaiting the Scarlet & Gray folks from Ohio State coming to play the foloowing week in DKRoyal! Problem for UT is, Ohio State's last game was a 28-7 rout of Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl. The Buckeyes return, almost intact, with Tony Smith back at QB, and veterans everwhere on offense, defense and special teams.

The Mean Green will trot out 2004 rushing champion, Jamario Thomas and a much improved overall team in size and speed. Mean Green faithfull will have plenty to cheer about September 2nd and 9th! Go! Mean Green!

Actually, OSU lost a couple of O-linemen and their entire defensive back 7, so I wouldnt call them "loaded with veterans". Tough game to call. This game will probably come down to how Texas' defense does vs OSU's offense- which should be a pretty good offense.

As far as our game is concerned, Texas is still going to have a killer D, and we still havent scored any points to their 92. I hope our D resembles that of 2001, 2002. If so, we might keep it close®. But we are still going to have serious problems moving the ball.

      I saw Fritz Von Erich wrestle there back in the 70's when it was the Mens Gym. I knew it had a capacity of around 5000 once. We played a UNT men's game there about 10? years ago for some confliction reason.

      Ladies playing Memphis today

      I like that idea of turning the Bahnsen gym into the playing location for WBB and Volleyball. I am not sure how much that would cost, but the super pit is just too large for WBB because of the lack of attendance. Volleyball's location is too small for them. At least for VB, it would put them back on the main campus. I think it could be a good home court advantage for both teams. It would be full for both teams.

      Great ESPN Story On Drew Mestemaker

      I have to disagree with this to some extent. EM absolutely looks like a better “QB Whisperer” and OC than Seth, Dodge, Dickey, and whoever Mac had on his staff. That isn’t a small thing IMO. The uncertainty comes from the defensive side of the ball and the general state of all G5 with NIL and an out of control transfer portal. I think I lot of us underestimate how detrimental retaining Seth was for our last year in CUSA. In 6 years, he had clearly demonstrated the biggest games he could win here were as playing spoiler with nothing substantial on the line for the Mean Green. I am not endorsing Morris because I wouldn’t have hired him in the first place. The appetite for the leadership and fans for a radically different risky move at the head coaching position isn’t there. So it is pointless to kick and scream in disappointment in Morris at this point because they aren’t going to swing for the fences whenever they replace him due to lack of winning.
