Gee whiz are we gonna be hurting in the morning? I had a blast even though I had not played flag in over 16 years I now remember how much fun it was back then.

There were lots of mistakes at first but everyone got into the groove. I had the first penalty of the game and I think the green team drew the most flags, and rightly so I suppose? Coach's Dickey, Evans, Flanigan, Gailey, RV along with 20 or so players came out to get involved it this great event.

The Green team had to go into a stiff north wind the entire game due to the white deferring the toss. I was pretty impressed with Justin(UNTFAN92)'s arm strength throwing into it all day. '92 was the game MVP. We kept the white team spread out by running a lot of crosses and streaks, softening up the under/middle areas for Harry, Peirow, King, TeachinTodd and all the guys in the middle. Coach Stebo and the player coaches, Nwigwe and staff did a good job of seeing what was open. Even though the green won easily I might remind that the white didn't have all their players show up so they played one person short. I suppose so many of them started to believe all the hype coming from their camp all month long that several figured they didn't need to show to win? biggrin.gif

All in all it was a great day for a fantastic cause. We doubled last years scholarship amount. As I told everyone today, Ol' #12 would have been very proud of everyone in honoring him this way.

Big thanks go out to MedPilot and Hope24 for their hard work in putting this together, and everyone in between. Thank you to Baby Arm for the photos. To the players, we appreciate you very much. The Mean Green Nation will be there for you in Austin. A special thanks go out to Alex Balic of Majestic Graphics of Argyle for donating and printing the shirts for the game.

See y'all soon.

My takes on today....

Having the players on the sideline made the game 100% more enjoyable...The guys the green team were coached by seemed to really enjoy swtiching roles! Having them to talk to and finally put faces with names made the game really enjoyable!

The Game...

By far the most fun of the three i have played in. The trash talking was there as always... I know i talked alot towards Emmitt...By the way...the Curtain Call name is that your day job opposite the police...cause my mom's new windows need some coverings....JK man... Good times....The wind was hell and i think we, the green team, found the right plan to play into it all day....very sneaky tactic there Zeke, the wind both halves...Our Player/Captain showed an immediate presence with his interception the last play of the game....

Best part of the whole day was meeting new people and knowing that we were doing something for a good cause! I am excited to walk the stage next month and know that i am entering into an alumni group like the ones i played with today that truely do care for thier university....

Thanks Med and Hope and everyone else involved!!!

Good times....Pass the icy hot!

...and she says to me...put it in some tupperware
