The way it is worded is that UNT will play at Akron this year and it will be the first of a 4-year deal for where UNT will play a MAC opponent in 2007 and 2008 and will play an away MAC game in 2008.

In other news, UNT has also closed a home and home deal with RICE! Will take place in years 2008 and 2010!

I Read it as away this year (akron), home games in 2007 & 2008 and an away game also in 2008. 2home-2away.

believe the 2nd Away will be in 2009 per the UNT site

Akron excluded...I love the way RV has directed this program to regionalized!!!

With the MAC and CUSA as some of our OOC opponents...I am assuming that we will still be forced to play atleast one money game a year...UT, OU, etc. I also thought that I read somewhere that we had Miami on our schedule in the next few years, something like 08? Is that true?

We should focus on the Rice's, UH, SMU, TCU, TULSA, TULANE, UTEP's of the world...they are regional and relatively inexpensive to travel for the team and the F'IN FANS....sorry about that, I love DD!

I'm still wondering what happened to future Air Force and Virginia games, and will this bring more revenue than a BYU deal would have?

If there was ever talk about a Virginia game that probably stalled because that would simply be too good for me for it to be true.

And Jeff, I am wondering while there seems to be any hint of excitement from anyone on this forum that we've scheduled Akron for however many games?!?!? blink.gif

It's because they are the Zips, which is a kangaroo or possibly a wallabe.

You guys are so negative. We get two winnable nonconference games one that gets us into Houston and you bitch and moan. Get a life. Major kudos to RV and Hank for getting this done for us. I feel compelled to apologize for our spoiled fans.

Both are AWESOME additions to the schedule. Rice needs to be home and home as often as possible, IMO. Akron is a quality program, and should be a good draw at Fouts.

We atre not playing Akron all 4 games. Reading between the lines it appears we might get different MAc teams each season, how is that bad.

Sorry PMG I like you but I got to call you on this one.

We have NO winnable nonconference games until we actually WIN one! What's negative about asking what happened to Air Force, Virginia, and BYU? Maybe you should set your sights a little higher.

What about that venue ? Rubber is balls, bands, baby buggy bumpers, and matches. But bowls ? Could someone please educate me about the Rubber bowl ?
