Women at Wichita State (12/29/24)
Time to see how good or bad this conference is. The women (8-4) travel north to face Wichita State (6-7) in the AAC opener. We beat the Lady Shockers in Denton last year, 72-68. At 8-4, the women are tied with ECU for third best nonconference record in the league. Only UTSA (9-2) and UAB (9-3) are better. However, at 17-7, UNT has the best combined men's and women's basketball record of any program in the AAC. Game is at 1pm on ESPN+. -

State of College Football
Good article...and just makes the future for G5s trying to fit into this new world that much more bleak. We talk about NIL but the scholarships increasing to 105 is another thing. Per the article, nearly 1400 new scholarships available at P4s. Last year 1/3 of the G5 to P4 transfers were all conference. This is suicide for G5s to try to stay in this world.... I don't understand why they can't replace these meaningless bowls which no one watches and no one attends with a playoff and national championship for our level. Surely ESPN would make more money off that than the "Frank's Car Wash" Bowl. The G5s just need to do it. And if the San Diego States of the world want to say "we don't care about G5, we care about the big playoff" then go for it and bankrupt your school trying to be at the cool kids table. -
