Grandson bragging

Several weeks ago I posted about two of my grandsons on the BB board. Just found out more info on my 2nd oldest grandson Derek, who graduates this May from Oakridge School in Arlingotn.

At Oakridge Derek was a varsity golfer and baskeball player..earning MVP his Jr. year on the JV team while also playing on the varsity squad. His Sr. year in baskeball he set a school record of drewing 30 charges..(the rest of the team drew only 10 and Oakridges opponents drew onlly 17 charges.

He has received an Air Force Scholarship...which will pay $45,000 over his last 3 years of college at a private university while in the Air Force ROTC...then a service obligation. His father, my son, was an ROTC graduate and spent about 12 years in the service as a fighter pilot...and now files 1st seat for American on international flights.

Derek has been offered a scholarship at TCU for 1/2 of his freshman tuition and free room and board for all 4 years.

Baylor is offering a $9,000 ship his freshman year and free room and board for the last 3 years.

Derek has been employed by the Rangers baseball team starting when their season starts.
