GMG.com will again be taking your orders here for the 2006 Authentic, Custom Mean Green game jersey's. It's in the works right now. I don't have a date yet but just expect that it will be about the same time as the previous years, last May to early June. I spoke to as many of the players' parents as I could about this last Thursday night. Please pass the word to others you may know to watch for info here on this board. What I do know for sure is that the helmets and jersey's will be the same as last year.

Most orders will be the green home game jersey and if we get a minimal order for white, usually 6, then we will also offer white as well.

I thought we were switching to a new shade of green for this upcoming season.  Not wanting to start a debate or anything...but that's kind of disappointing.

I'm happy that it's staying the same. My wife and I love the green it is now.

Rick, I could not afford the jerseys last year but with some nifty book keeping it looks like a good year so I definately want 2 of the home jerseys this time, With Charleys name and number of course! How big can you get them? I am 6'4" and weigh over 300lbs and I know there tight fitting like the actual game jersey's so I want like a 5 or 6X.

Thanks for bringing this up because I don't believe we discussed "Shade" of green, just style of jersey and the helmet logo. The color could still change I suppose, and I won't know that for sure for a few weeks? If it does change to Kelly I hope they accent it with black.

Good. That was my concern was that they weren't going to change the color either. I assumed by "the jersey's will be the same as last year" that it included color. Maybe now there is hope?

That puts me at ease a little bit too. I don't mind the helmet logo and the jersey style...I'd just like to go ahead and switch to the color that all of the new logos are being printed in. The old jerseys just look too dark when they get wet...they don't "pop" in photos or on tv.

Believe me, I don't like Marshall...but I think that something close to their shade of green is what we will be getting. Personally, I think it will look better from far away, in pictures, on tv, etc.

Oh, and I will definitely be ordering a jersey this year.

Please put me on the list for a jersey. I know I want one for sure, but maybe two. I assume they are ordered with specific names and numbers?

I already have his UNT socks, onesie (?), pennant, etc. He might also be the youngest (4 months) Junior Mean Green member this fall!

The jersey's are actual, authentic game jersey's that you can customize however you like. Because they are the real thing, they come with a steep price. The past three years they have been $125 each. This is a very good price because last years' jersey's had sewn-on apligue lettering and numbers and this years jersey's should be the same. Very cool. As I said before, when we know more about them I'll start a new thread to take orders.

      We are going to Idaho!

      Way too early for bowl location speculation. Hell the playoff is still on the table for us if we run the table. And if all the higher ranked G5 lose more games than we do on the way to a AAC title we still might get in. Don't get me wrong I won't scoff at being bowl eligible but I want an AAC title game appearance to get excited about post season football. Far more people will watch that AAC title game than a random mid-week Bowl Game that may not have existed before rivals like UTSA joined FBS.

      Getting Close To Being Ranked (Army, Navy)

      I think the difference I have seen is the defense. When we went to Lubbock, this defense was in shambles. That's not to say they are world beaters or can hang with major programs, but I have to admit, they look different. I think the next 2 games will show a lot more.

      UNT ranked #7 in Texas!

      DCTF - Note: Teams are measured against the overall strength of their conference. 1. Texas Longhorns 5 - 0 Texas was idle in Week 6 ahead of the Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma. The Longhorns should be the No. 1 ranked team in the country by Monday afternoon. 2. Texas A&M Aggies 5 - 1 Conner Weigman and Nic Scourton led the Aggies to a statement victory at home over Mizzou. Texas A&M is 3-0 in SEC play and on a 5-game winning streak. 3. SMU Mustangs 5 - 1 The Ponies are in ACC contention after consecutive wins over Florida State and Louisville. Kevin Jennings passed for over 200 yards and rushed for over 100 in Week 6. 4. Texas Tech Red Raiders 5 - 1 Tahj Brooks topped 100 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown in a late-night victory at Arizona for an important road win. 5. Sam Houston Bearkats 5 - 1 Sam Houston thumped UTEP on the road to start its march towards a Conference USA title in Year 2 as an FBS program. K.C. Keeler deserves his flowers. 6. North Texas Mean Green 4 - 1 The Mean Green was idle in Week 6. They continue conference play this weekend on the road at FAU. 7. Texas State Bobcats 3 - 2 Texas State stopped a two-game losing streak with a rare road win at Troy. The Bobcats remain in Sun Belt Conference contention. 8. Houston Cougars 2 - 4 A road win over TCU propels the Coogs up the list despite a losing record. Zeon Chriss looked tremendous in his first start as Houston's quarterback. 9. TCU Horned Frogs 3 - 3 TCU has lost three of its last four games after the home defeat to Houston. Penalties and turnovers are dooming the Frogs. 10. Baylor Bears 2 - 4 Baylor is now 0-4 against Big 12 foes in 2024 even though the Week 2 defeat at Utah doesn't technically count as a conference loss. 11. UTSA Roadrunners 2 - 3 UTSA gets a chance to right the ship in Week 7 against Rice. The Roadrunners were idle on Saturday. 12. Rice Owls 1 - 4 The Owls had a much-needed weekend off to regroup following the Charlotte loss in Week 5. 13. UTEP Miners 0 - 5 Scotty Walden's group remains winless after five games of his tenure. The second half of the schedule is much easier than the first six games. #13
