Texas' passion for footbal can cut both ways

The Longhorns are national champions. Texas high school football might be the best in the nation. Those schools annually provide some of the best Division I prospects.

Then you add Cowboys, Texans and the NFL heritage. Aside from oil, football might be the state's No. 1 export.

I don't understand the point of that article. Blaming Texas football for what happend to Kinne?

I dont think the article was saying that the texas football cultre was at fault for this guy snapping, just that it was a contributing factor. he was using the story to support his point that we take football more seriously than anyone else.
