Brian Carlson

I noticed many of the websites have Carlson listed as a DT, yet North Texas shows him as a TE. Any idea if he played DT at Kilgore, and if so, what his stats were?

I believe that he may have started at TE then moved to DT later, as I noticed his weight jumped from 255 up to the 275 range. Does it matter all he is here for is to be another linemen at the TE postion.

According to an interview with Dickey, Carlson will be tried first at TE. The problem is, what is his weight? If he is at 275, that would make him an extremely heavy tight end. Tight ends are normally 240-260 pounds; even lighter, if he's a good receiver and the system calls for a lot of passes to the tight end.

Unless they just want another blocker in the line, I'd guess that he winds up on the defensive line.
