I guess there is no "All of the above" category.

I chose Rice out UNT in CUSA.  This would solve a lot of isuues.

GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah and the only way that is going to happen is if Rice drops football. Otherwise, CUSA will continue to enjoy having a prestigious university with an outstanding baseball team in their conference.

why would rice ever leave or be removed from CUSA?? a clean program with top notch grades that won an NCAA title in baseball just a few years ago. sounds just like what CUSA doesnt want.......

I think the most important thing that could happen is breaking ground on a new stadium. We've had a lot of the other achievements (rushing champs, beating other piss-poor Texas teams, winning the SBC and NO Bowl, etc.). One bad season and those achievements are in the back of our minds. A new stadium would improve recruiting, alumnae support, fan experience, and program attitude now and in the years to come.

A close second would have to be joining CUSA. However, if we join CUSA and go 3-8 the next 4 seasons, how great will that be?

A new stadium is the key to moving our program to the next level. That needs to happen ASAP! I look forward to going to UNT games and being able to sit within 100 yards of the action and feel like I'm part of the game. That will be great!

Playmaker, what do you mean "you" Mean Greeners.  You're not part of this Mean Green experience? rolleyes.gif

SilverEagle, i am a huge mean greenbacker and always will be, there's no doubt about that and i will always be in the front row of the mean green experience...

i worded it that way to see what others wanted in our football program's future....i know what i want, and as i can tell everyone else wants and that is that all important CUSA membership

I want a new head coach! That is key!

I know that nothing on the list is likely to happen this year with DD leading the team. At best we may beat SMU but I think that is looking pretty grim.

I would like the whole list, but it won't happen again anytime soon under DD.

A new football stadium will give us choices we don't have with Fouts Field. It will also raise the ante of our being able to get (and more easily fund) a Dennis Erickson/Mike Price-type hire in Denton, too.

BUT..........FWIW, what have we done different at UNT (lately) that would cause CUSA to covet our school as a member?

What we are building at Eagle Point Campus are what many of the other schools we'd be up against for CUSA membership already have.

While we still talk about a new football stadium at UNT that will happen someday in the sweet by and by in Denton, Troy U already has (basically) a new football stadium to point out to CUSA officials and they are certainly in the CUSA footprint. They have also beaten a Top 25 school in that new stadium before a national ESPN TV audience. Who have we beat similarly (or of note) lately?

A few of you have even told me you feared there may be 1 or 2 other schools (and even an additional SBC/Bottom 10 school other than Troy U) that CUSA could possibly choose over UNT.

And don't forget, we have a huge local hurdle to overcome and they will open our 2006 home football season at Fouts Field with a football team that beat 3 bowl teams last year of which one of those finished very high in the Top 25.

What have we of UNT done of late (or ever) that will change the minds of those who reside off University Park's Mockingbird Lane?;(

Lets somehow defy all the stumblingblocks we have created for ourselves in Denton and somehow & someway..........build a new football stadium at Eagle Point Campus. That would be the first step which may enable us to get to the next step which would be a better conference.

If you'd left Rice out of the equation I would have picked CUSA. I would like for Rice to right the ship and stay. What I'd like is for Marshall and East Carolina to leave (Big East is ok) and us to get in. So....I chose the new stadium which should eventually get us in CUSA and assure competitive teams.

Many of us will have dirt turned on us before dirt is turned on a new stadium at the rate the campaign is progressing. NOTHING AND I MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WOULD BE BETTER THAN A WIN OVER SMU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too bad-----students, coaches, players & dept. doesn't feel the same. Ho-Hum just another OOC game to them. If we went 1-11 and the win was over SMU I would consider the season a success.
