John: I have heard North Texas may want a WAC or a MWC spot since travel for Sun Belt schools is expensive for a mid-major DI-A school. Being that our teams are from AR, TN, AL, FL, and LA, why not pick up another school in the deep south and let North Texas go? Many other conferences are becoming very regionalized and maybe the Sun Belt can save a lot of money by dropping schools not in these states such as Denver in basketball! Since when is the Mile High City in the Sun Belt?!! WKU makes more since in football than North Texas.

Commissioner Waters: John, UNT is a very significant player in this league. Always remember that when evaluating travel cost, sometimes distance is not as important as airline hub cities. Example, I can fly (or I could before the storm) to Miami and/or Ft. Lauderdale cheaper than I can fly to Monroe, Jonesboro or Little Rock. A direct flight to Miami from NO takes an hour and twenty minutes, a flight to Memphis is about a six-hour trip through Atlanta or a very expensive flight direct.
