Did I hear right that Godbolt ?? is not a shoe in. Sounds like academics or some such might hold him back? any one got the word on this?

I had heard academics.

Why is Loren not coming until summer? Does that mean that we have 5 ships still to give out?

Just a guess since he's coming from a juco... maybe he needs the spring semester for either credit hours or grades to be able to transfer.

I would assume we are keeping them for players that got left out of the mix when other schools overcommitted. Alot of BCS schools have 30 or more players verbal and then pick from the best. Some players will get left out and we could go after them.

Also, if Godbolt is placed at a JUCO and Tanner signs here, that would give us 19 ships given out.

It seems as though we now have a pretty good pipeline with Coffeyville. As we signed 3 players from their and are now sending a NT recruit there. Very good news as Coffeyville is a very good JUCO

I was surprised to learn that Ray Loren was not on campus. I asked Coach Barella about it at today's news conference. He said that the young man had taken 18 or 21 hours (he was not sure which) at Coffeyville this fall while playing football there but discovered that he was one course short of being able to graduate and come to Denton for the Spring semester. They expect him here after graduation this Spring.

Coach Dickey indicated that they were still looking at ways to use their remaining scholarships. They would still like to find a running back and a good JC defensive lineman was not out of the question. He said that they had not found a kicker that they wanted to offer a scholarship.

Bobby Ray's children were not mentioned, but hey, there is always that possibility isn't there? You've got to keep the big dogs happy......
