Several schools are playing the waiting game with three-star Robert Williams as the Dallas (Texas) Kimball defensive end is preparing for his big decision.

Robert Williams, according to his father, is still undecided.

Things got interesting this past weekend as the No. 36 weakside defensive end took a last minute trip to North Texas with one of his teammates. This comes after the 6-foot-4, 200-pound future college defender said that his list had been narrowed down to three schools – Iowa State, Washington State, and UTEP.

His father, Robert Williams Sr., says that things are still somewhat open.

"He went to North Texas, and when he gets back, we're going to try and sit down to decide where he wants to go," Williams' father said. "He and his teammate went out there this past weekend and when he comes back, we've got to talk."

Williams' father says that there is no leader at this point and it appears that more schools could be in the mix than once originally thought. His last reported top three though appears to be in the best position at this point.

Rumors also were circulating last week that Washington State may have had a bit of an edge, but the father says that his son is still deciding.

"We don't know where he is at with the decision, that's why we need to talk about it," Williams' father said. "It's up in the air right now. We'll have something in the next few days."

We should all be praying that Williams decides to stay close to home; where his parents can see him and he can play a little hoops. It would jump this recruiting class 10-20 places nationally.

That is especially true if he also brings along his friend, Houston commit Tanner, who is rated higher than any of the three Houston-area RBs that we were interested in and vice versa. It looks like one may not have the grades and the other two are now UH possibilities. At least, that is where they want to go. In addition, there is a RB from Hitchcock named Lowe, who is also Phillip Tanner's equal (on paper) so the running back situation at the U of Houston could get very crowded.

Williams and Tanner would sure look good in green.

I am thinking safety or linebacker for Williams - - not DE. (if he signed here) I suppose it just depends how his body develops.

He could move to LB as he has 4.6 speed or if he can put on around 20 lbs he would be a great rush end. As you said its all about how his body fills out.

I suspect a MGR in the near future. Hopefully it will bring good news regarding him and a Carson Coffman update.

Agree with you that I would see him as a linebacker. His 4.6 forty speed would be great for a linebacker; so-so for a safety IMO. If added weight slows him a little then speed rusher might be o.k.

Tanner is no Jamario Thomas but his signing, along with Williams, would be a big boost to UNT for future prospects in Southern Dallas County.

In recent years, we have not come close to this talent rich area: (3-4 mile radius)

Dallas Carter HS

Dallas Kimball HS

Duncanville HS

DeSoto HS

Cedar Hill HS

Lancaster HS

UNT Dallas billboards (in the heart of the area) are sprouting up all over the area.
