"but NO guy wants to hear sports talk from a girl"

For the sake of argument lets just say you are right in your assumption - Guys don't want to hear sports talk from a girl.

You are however discounting the fact that about 50% of the population is female and believe it or not there are a few of them that like sports. So maybe that's the point, female host appeals to female listners. Or maybe some guys do enjoy hearing sports talk from a "girl" (Might explain why Gina Miller has a job.) Or maybe you're just a sexist imbecile. Who knows? It's hard to say.

When was the KA house turned into the Greek center. What all is housed in there?

A large picture of robert e lee, some confederate flags, oh wait, you meant what is housed there now after they were kicked off campus. Sorry I've got no idea. rolleyes.gif

Personally i listen to both stations. I like the ticket more becasue jsut like what was said earlier is that is is "guy talk" and just sports talk. The ticket is like a bunch of friends getting together over some beers on a random Saturday night. 75% sports, 20% girls and all that implies, and 5% random "stuff".

Meanwhile ESPN is more like coworkers getting together around the water cooler the monday after a good round of NCAA and NFL football and discussing the games.

They used to have a portrait of Lee in their house.

I believe they also used to have a cannon, till someone borowed it and accidentailly droped it in the river.

The "umm no" was in response to the confederate flag part.

The cannon was stolen in respnse to a missing deer head from a certain "lodge".

I wouldnt throw too many stones... Ive heard all kinds of things that went on inside that awful motel yall used to be housed in that were just as questionable as anything that happened in the KA house. Seems yall, as well as every other fraternity at NT, have had their fair share of issues.

Its also a common misconception that KA is nothing but racists. Robert E Lee's is considered a founder (though Im not sure he was a member),he was a big part of their founding and I believe he was also the president of the univeristy where KA was founded, so it would make sense to have a statue of him in their house. In fact, several fraternities had founding fathers that fought on BOTH sides of the war-- well at least the ones that have been around long enough...

Of course this thread has inevitably now derailed... sorry.

I like the Ticket. I like Russ Martin. Those are the only things I listen to when in Dallas.

I also enjoy 610 here in Htown... Im about beaten to death with Vince Young/Texans talk but I like the guys on the afternoons.

The Hard Line gets good numbers, but they are not a "Top 20 National Show." They aren't even the top 18-35 show locally in their time slot.

But, they do double ESPN locally most books.

Double? Nope. I remember reading just last week that ESPN was getting oh so close to edging out the Ticket in overall ratings. I can't recall the numbers but it was in the neighborhood of something like 3.1 vs 2.7

You people are wasting your time arguing anyways, just do what I do and pay for Sirius. Trust me, it blows the local crap out of the water.
