Wesley Scourten made his commitment to Texas State.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pound tight end watched his interest grow and it culminated with an offer from Texas State and North Texas. Head coach Jim Ledford said that his start tight end has come to a decision.

"He committed to Texas State," Ledford said about Scourten. "Coach David Bailiff has done a good job down there, and has good coaches. It's a real neat campus and when he stepped on the campus he said he just had a great time."

Scourten adds to the recent rush of commitments to the Lone Star school. Texas State recently added a commitment from quarterback Ross Jenkins.

Ledford has several top prospects on the roster including four-star defensive end Ugo Chinasa that has yet to decide and recent Baylor commit Calvin Rubles.
