This is a QB that I understand NT did not contact, who had stated he wanted to go to UNT, NT was not interested in.

Euless Trinity QB changes commitment

06:03 PM CST on Sunday, January 22, 2006

By TODD WILLS / The Dallas Morning News

Euless Trinity quarterback Trevor Vittatoe said Sunday afternoon that he has switched his oral commitment from Texas State to UT-El Paso.

Oral commitments are nonbinding. The first day a recruit can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 1.

Vittatoe had committed to Texas State last Sunday on the one-year anniversary of his mother Kari Daun Kelsoe Vittatoe's death in a vehicle accident. But he said that didn't make him hesitate switching to UTEP.

"I'll fit better with their offense and there aren't as many distractions in El Paso so I'll be able to focus on football," Vittatoe said. "And playing time will come sooner there.'

UTEP starting quarterback Jordan Palmer will be a senior for the 2006 season.

This should come as no real surprise. UTEP was his first choice all along. I think the commitment to Tx State - San Marcos was an insurance policy in case something changed out west.

This kid is Bengal's QB Carson Palmer's little brother.

Yeah, all he did was win in HS. I can totally see why we wouldn't want him.
