A$M might want to consider DD's "stealth recruitment" policy after this story.

COLLEGE NOTES

A&M commitment is arrested

Staff and Wire Reports

Trent Hines, a Midland Lee football player who has committed to play at Texas A&M next season, was arrested, along with another boy, in connection with the sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl, according to a statement released by the Midland Police Department.

Warrants were issued for Hines and Paul Allen Peters, both 17, on Dec. 21. Hines was arrested Dec. 21 and Peters was arrested Dec. 22, according to the statement.

The incident occurred Dec. 15 and was reported to Midland police the same day by the parents of the victim. The report said the victim and suspects are known to each other.

Both boys were released from the Midland County detention center after posting $25,000 bonds each, according to a report in the Midland Reporter-Telegram.

Hines entered the 2005 football season as one of the state's top running backs after rushing for 1,500 yards in 2004. However, this season was filled with setbacks, including a suspension for violating team rules. He was also benched during the season and he did not play, for undisclosed reasons, in the team's final regular-season game or in their playoff game.

Was the Fla. State LB Peterson that was accused of rape during the pre-bowl preperations for the Fiesta bowl the other day, the same person that was accused of rape during his recruiting visit ?
