Well, I don't understand that, but for the third game in a row, there are NO cheerleaders at a NT Basketball game.

What did this tyrant want you to do ? Actually show up for a game ? Act interested ?

One thing you can say for the NT cheerleaders...when the going gets rough, they quit.

It shouldn't take a coach to get volunteer students out to support THEIR school. mad.gif

Well maybe you're right. Aside from the NT Dancers, we have NO ONE in uniform on the sidelines.

The Dancers were there again last night. They got off work, they had to drive in, they finished studying, they didn't make excuses.

They just show up.

Oh wow, the Cheerleader coach quit. Gee, what are we gonna do?

Of course, it's a well known fact that the UNT Cheerleader Coach job is a "pressure cooker", what with trying to live up to that national championship of several years ago.

Anyway, thanks for totally ruining my day. Now, I've had to rearrange my "Things that I'm worried about" list:

Here's the current list:

1) UNT is without a cheerleader coach

2) Terrorism

3) The War in Iraq

4) Droughts and wildfires in Texas

5) Bird flu

6) That restraining order that keeps me out of Chuck E. Cheese

I think that you guys want people on the sidelines in uniform instead of cheerleaders.  I think it is high time that you get what you asked for!

Great! Get any 12 students that WANT to be on the sidelines for games, cheer experts or not (who really cares?), then give them the uniforms. If the current ones don't want to be there then I don't want them there! tongue.gif

Actuall SUMG, I think that restraining order should be number two. wink.gif Not saying at all that this is the end of world as we know it but it shows a difference in what has been expressed to the cheerleaders and what the administration has demonstrated and what you all are saying that you want.

?????????????????????

All we want are cheerleaders that show up and cheer. Is that too much to ask for?

What has been expressed to the cheerleaders?

What has the administration demonstrated?

I can tell you exactly what we want:

1. Cheerleaders to show up

2. Cheerleaders to make it their priority to get people to the game and become excited about the Mean Green.

-- this might involve doing something outside the realm of cheerleading such as handing out flyers and such

3. Cheerleaders to be cute/hot/fine/dope............whatever seems most appropriate.

4. Cheering on the team for YOUR school is primary and competative cheerleading is secondary.

-- I think most don't honestly care if you win another national champtionship or not.

Remember this spot?

I'm not taking up for the NT cheerleaders, but that picture says it all. Who are they going to cheer with/to?

A crowd like that should be expected with school out and ZERO promotion going on.

Wearing green seems to be a problem this season too. This last game I purchased tickets at the door. The lady assumed I was a student. I corrected her and she replied that she figured I was since I was wearing green and pretty much only students wore green. That aspect has gotten much better at football games, but it has regressed this season at The Pit.
