A caller on a local sports-talk radio show this week lamented the fact that the Louisiana Ragin' Cajun football team didn't get a deserved spot in the relocated New Orleans Bowl.

He went on to say he wasn't attending Tuesday's clash at UL's Cajun Field, since he was a long-time Cajun backer and didn't want to support either Arkansas State or Southern Mississippi.

Some people really dont get it. The game is in a Sunblet stadium for a change, and not a bad one at that. It really doesnt matter that much who the SBC rep plays, but the most important thing is the ULL fans have one more football game to watch? If this game was played at Fouts..(besides the fact that I would ecstatic for one more home game this year), I would back whoever represented the SBC? Why would the ULL fans be otherwise? Bitter about your team missing the game is one thing, but it's still a bowl game in your back yard. Support your freakin conference Cajuns...

They can do what they want, but I'm going to OUR Bowl game.

They need to pay attention to what happened in Shreveport. Started out as a Southland team vs. at-large and though the game teetered on the verge of being bankrupt a number of times they kept just making it. Now they pay out something like $1.3 million per team WITHOUT A TITLE SPONSOR.

The local sponsors who used to want to be on the prime New Year's Eve date now want the game earlier because they are filling up their hotels on New Year's Eve any way and want them full those earlier dates. Right now they are slated to have 7,200 out-of-state visitors between South Carolina and Missouri who will spend money and go home. A few years ago Arkansas and Missouri brough 24,000 people to town and there wasn't a hotel to be found within 20 miles of Shreveport.

I'll admit it's a pet peeve, but in your graphic you have Sun Belt (the correct use of the conference name is two words) as Sunbelt.

Congrats on the season and good luck in the bowl game. We're all pulling for you.

I know but I didn't make it. At least it doesn't say Sunblet.

He is one local idiot! Most do not feel the same. Sure, we're disappointed we didn't get in; but that was OUR fault. I think you will see decent local support; especially if the weather holds.
