Fired up about more "Dickey Ball" in 2006!

I am an optimist, though I've never been invited to join the "Optimists Club." They do wonderful things in the community...truly a great organization.

I am getting so tired of my wife, Margie, poking run at the state of our football program. "Spears, why would anybody bother to go to North Texas games to see them get hammered week after week."

I told her,"Honey, unless you went to North Texas and have it in your blood, you would never understand. I've seen plenty of dark games at UNT, but we always bounce back...and I think there is a glimmer of a hope we may be better next fall."

She did not respond...Larry King Live (on CNN) came on and his guest for the full hour was my goat farming friend from Weatherford. I understand he's come out with a new Christmas Book entitled "Hells Bells."
