Departed Las Colinas back to Fort Worth about 2pm...got home at 3:30.

Very icy conditions over bridges and under bridges where water (ice) is forming.

Glad I left early. I-35W, at 3:30 was a parking lot.

good luck...it is sleeting now with accumulations.

Jeez, it's all the way down to 65 here in Phoenix.  Had to put away my summer t-shirts and bring out my winter t-shirts!

60, what are you doing in Phoenix? I thought that you were rooted in Modesto.

You think your drive has been tough? Try pushing around 737's all day on the skating rink that is DFW's Terminal E ramp...did I mention that my pushback tug doesn't have a cab and the wind chill was 9 degrees?

My drive from Lewisville to Plano was not too bad. TXDOT did a good job of sanding yesterday.

Temperatures will rise later today and all this will be over by afternoon rush hour.

On the well traveled roads maybe. But otherwise, the remainder of the roads are very hazardous. Assuming that any other roads DO melt today, they will re-freeze (and therefore be much more dangerous) shortly after the sun goes down. Black Ice is much more dangerous than the regular stuff.

Just about 100% of the the schools in the immediate DFW area are closed today.

I have a 3:30 and 6:30 class today, and commute from outside of Denton. I don't think I'll risk driving at night time on the highways.

I wouldn't. I just made it to work right off the Denton square, and the roads in Denton are really bad. Lots of black ice. They've sanded the bridges and some of the roads, but there are still too many idiots on the road. I'd stay at home.
