this is very typical of aggy. having several aggy friends, and an aggy boss, I see this all the time. an aggy never actually loses. they either run out of time, get robbed by officials, dont play as well as they are capable of, or some combination of all the above. In aggyland, there is no losing. only moral victories and excuses. which is why even if we had won the game, you would hear the same things you are hearing now.

man i would have liked to steal a game there... anyone know if this is will be a series in the future, or is it just a one game deal?

I was there last night, sitting in the student section. If you werent there, I dont know if you can really understand how close we were to winning. even with the sorry refs, we almost won. If just 3 more of those free throws go in, we win. Yes there was home cooking, but the refs did suck both ways. Just more of those BcS calls were against us. A couple that stand out in my mind is when JB got pushed down, litterally, but was called for a foul, and when one of our guys was on the ground going for the ball, one of the ATM players tripped over him and we were called. Still, we were with them the whole game. They couldnt put us away, and it had nothing to with them having a "off" night.

Aside from the game, They do have a nice facility. I will stil put the Pit up against just about any of those BcS facilities. Their dancers are really bad. No, I mean they pretty much suck. I don't know what their instructor does during practice, but she might want to teach them coreography. Alot of their cheers are incredibly retarded. For one, they would routinely chant "Army, Army" over and over. Supposedly their core all goes into the Army, but unless they have a obligaion to enter the Army, ie West Point, that chant needs to be done away with. Another tradition is to hold your hand in an "A" during an Aggie free throw. The "A" obviously stands for "Aggie". Sorry, I thought they had more creativity than that, I mean, the do have Milk Deliverey Men from the '50's leading their yells. Speaking of yells, they really should do away with the "Beat the hell out of ..." Its ok a few times, but when you are about to beat a team by only TWO POINTS, you might want to avoid that one.

They have to have the second most retarded fight song EVER!!! I know its only referring TU, but it really sounds idiotic when you are singing it as someone other than TU enters the arena, field, etc. I was trying not to laugh during that. Finally comes the yell leaders. I dont know how it got started, but it really looks retarded to have guys that are dressed like milkmen leading cheers. They get WWWAAAAAYYY to into it. Its rather pathetic actually. To sum it up, if my kids decide to go to A$M, I will disown them.

And Ive never been one to tout moral victories, but I would call that one last night. But to hear Johnny come out and say that was not a moral victory, that they came to win, its freakin awesome.

I am really proud of the team's effort in this game. Any time you take a 'big conference' school to the buzzer, that is a statement. I wish for the players they had gotten this win. Keep up the pressure!

While it's not there fight song, USC has a pretty prominent song they play after every game where there tell UCLA to goto hell. I heard it myself after the Fresno State game.

In other words, it's not "retarded". Plus, if you're strictly going on the melody and not the words(which I have to do when I judge fight songs since I don't know the words to every college fight song) it'd be in my top 10 along with ND, Michigan, Georgia Tech, USC and a few others.

Something that i noticed the other night was that towards the end of the game, the Aggies were sucking a lot of wind. You could tell that our guys had played in a very physical game, and man was it physical, but they were still standing tall and looked like they could go for a while still.

I think this shows not only the kind of shape that our guys were in but also the depth of our bench. Very encouraging.

Also my hat goes off to Joseph Jones, the man can play and if you attended the game you might have noticed that he was looking like he was hurting. he kept rubbing his knee and he was limping slightly when there was a dead ball. But he played through it and he was very impressive. just wish he had missed that damned 3pt shoot
