North Texas Men’s Basketball Tilt Against Houston Moved To The Super Pit

Courtesy: University of North Texas

DENTON (12/5/05) -- The North Texas men’s basketball game against Houston on December 23, originally scheduled to be played in Houston at 7 p.m., has been moved to Denton and the tip time changed from 7 p.m. to 1 p.m. to accommodate the Cougars kick-off time of 7 p.m. in the Fort Worth Bowl on the same day.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the North Texas ticket office at 940-565-2527 or 1-800-UNT-2366. The game can still be heard live on the Mean Green Radio Network as well (KWRD 100.3 FM, KNTU 88.1 FM, KPXI (100.3 FM), KAFR (88.3 FM)), starting with the pregame at 12:30 p.m.

North Texas is currently 2-2 overall and 2-0 at home, while Houston is 3-1 after coming off a victory over No. 15 Arizona last Saturday. The Cougars are 1-0 in road games this year.

There's a good chance there could be more Houston fans then North Texas fans at thisgame, given the tipoff time.

Go see this game if you can. Houston is on a roll and will be one the best teams to come to The Pit in a while. Plus....after watching dozens of UT games when Tom Penders was coach, you have to go for this reason only. THE MAN IS ORANGE. Really and Seriously...he has orange skin like a pumpkin!

well I suppose selfishly this sucks... I was looking forward to going to this game here in Houston! Thats a great deal for UH though, their fans can go catch thier bowl game and a basketball game in one day. Hopefully we can get a big crowd to the Pit! This should be a tough game for us, but it is a series I hope we continue. Plus it would be huge to knock off a C-USA opponent.

i would guarantee there will be more houston fans than mean green fans. two days before christmas, denton is a ghost town (at least student wise), but man, i'll be there. i used to love watching the runnin' horns! bj tyler, reggie freeman, brany perriman, kris clack (i'm sure i misspelled some names).

I thought most of NT students lived in or near the Metroplex... if this is the case, I see no reason why U of H would have more fans there than us. They are traveling away from their home city during Christmas as well.

For the most part, they have the same attendance issues as we do.
