CBS Sportsline Poll

We were 48th after the MUTS game.

What a year!

Dickey is a hell of a head coach! We are soooo Lucky to have him! ph34r.gifph34r.gifph34r.gifph34r.gif

Maybe the BOR can extend his contract ten more

years! ph34r.gifph34r.gifph34r.gifph34r.gif

Middle Tennessee finished 100th, man I think we have a shot next year with DD's help of a perfect 119th place, its good to have goals.

Hey guys, its all ok. We beat MTSU in the smurf. They beat Vandy there. Vandy beat Tennessee in Knoxville. So, technically, we are better than the great Vols. The ship ain't sinking. ph34r.gifunsure.gif

Isn't that like this guy I know who knew a guy that dated this girl who's roommate heard on the radio that someone went out with a guy that this one time was at a game where he saw on the jumbo-tron that some football team was the bestest ever!

Not to redirect from the overall ranking title of the thread, but since '99 our offense has averaged 106th nationally and I believe that includes this season. Can't remember what week I added that up? But our overall ranking shouldn't surpise anyone. Our winning streak was due to a good defense, which is what you muct rely on with our offensive system.

I restate very clearly, we must find a top talent, crazed-manic type D lineman or we can expect the same next season.

You mean we won't be able to pull of a UCF and go from 0-11 to 8-4 or a Tulsa, it can not be just the players, right??? blink.gif

We didn't fare quite as well with Massey's average rankings from 107 services that rank teams. We were 114th there and that may be tainted since #115, FAU beat us.

Rick's right...it's probably the facilities. The sad part is, the facilities will be here next year, the year after, and so on. The fans won't.

Some call all that, uh...........Dickey Ball, FFR. smile.gif

When does DD interview for his alma mater's job again? And if that were to happen, won't that be his first official interview after his leading us to 4 bowl games as football champ of the SBC/Bottom 10? ph34r.gif

What part of all this direction by DD is exciting you who are our campus leaders? We all (truly) want to be just as excited, too, but please clue us in on what makes yall keep rubber-stampin' this every year? You know, all that you ask us to invest every year? ph34r.gif

PLEASE STEP FORWARD: BTW, which one of you will volunteer to market all this in the summer of 2006? That is, to market what a growing number (if you can go by emails sent to me of those who never post but only read on this forum) who say they cannot follow any of this now or next year or in 2007 when they give DD yet another year to watch his under. 500 W/L differential widen? What should be the concern of most is what percentage of those emails I received from total strangers represent a much larger cross section of the UNT community? ph34r.gif

To NT Decision-Makers: Can you not see for yourselves what many now see as the real direction of Mean Green football based on this year, recruiting trends of recent years among those schools we're getting beat by now who we really thought we were ahead of the past 5 years; and with those (forever) key losses to actual NCAA 1-AA schools or those just out of that NCAA level in that same number of years?

And so with this veiled success, it being even more apparent that some of you who have the responsibility of leading our school with crucial decisions you make (and contract extensions you approve) DO YOU THINK it was the University of North Texas alum, Mean Green fan and athletic donors that the creator of that other kind of circus had in mind when he coined his most famous phrase about what kind of person was born every minute? huh.gif

GOD BLESS TEXAS!

I was playing along with the sarcasm thing when I said it's Fouts Field's fault. We had our best team in years in '02. We played everyone tough and beat C-USA's co champions in the bowl game. We did so with talent that was recruited here without ANY kind of new football facility. We have recruited talent in the past and done well with much worse than what we have now...ie Nelson and Fry. What we don't have now that we did have in '02 is a top defense. Did losing our D coordinator cause the drop off? Possibly. This recruiting season is critical for our defense.

I thought it was the fan's fault and attendance for the problems? blink.gif

Or maybe the team's youth? Oh wait, ULM , Tulsa, and UCF had more youth. humm... dry.gif

Now you know Dickey has the toughest situation in all of NCAA football at UNT.

We know that has to be true, Dickey said it himself on the Radio!

I know that DD has only really had Idaho that was interested in his services, but due the fact that he has won as many conf titles as he has, and based on how exciting his offense is, should we limit signing him to 10 more years? Shouldn't we try to lock him in until he is at least 70 years of age?

I agree with Rick... if we do not find some dlineman next year could be worse than this year.

If DD is still here I am planning on it.
