Yes, they are making strides in their athletic department (namely football). Will they pass us? I doubt it. How good are their other sports? How are their other facilities? Does it rival what we are doing at Eagle Point? Doubt it. Also, many of  their academic programs are still behind NT and many other Div1A schools in Texas. Yes they are growing rapidly, as is support for their program. But so is NT. Dont let one bad football season for us, and one good season in Div 1AA for them let you believe the sky is falling. Its not.

I also do not think this success they have enjoyed at the 1AA level would necessarily translate directly into success at the D1A level. Many of Texas State's players transferred there from D1A schools because they wouldnt have to sit out a year and could have an immediate impact. Their QB was orginally recruited by U of H but I think (not certain) there were some personal problems/issues that led him to leave UH and Texas State was happy to take him (for obvious reasons). He is as much or more to TexState what VY is to UT.

Texas State University-San Marcos now has the 3rd highest admission standards of any public institution in the state (excluding private universities). Unfortunately, it's still behind UT and A&M (for now). This information was personally given to me by Dr. Denise Trauth, president of Texas State.

So, TSU is about to pass A&M then in terms of admission standards, is that what you are implying?

By the way, my sister-in-law is a huge TSU fan (one of the few that has been loyal the last few years) so I may hit a game this year. My boys actually have TSU jerseys.

No sir....I'm not implying anything please do not read anything more into than what is written. I have a great deal of respect for Texas A&M.

Why do you keep bringing this thread back from the dead? It was started 6 months ago!

I'm sure there are plenty of people on the board that would be more than happy to teach you how to start a new thread. biggrin.gif

you are lying. (I was going to make a funny and sarcastic joke here, but I think the hilarity of my post may be in part due to its simplicity... also I am not sure that a SWT grad could keep up with my level of humor)

Funny...I don't even know you yet I can see you as a 4-year old wearing knee high britches saying "nanner nanner boo boo".

Grow up.
