I'm in agreement that RV criticism is unfounded and very short-sighted (blame anyone ! blame everyone!). My only question for RV would be: When is Air Force gonna come here ? If it's being saved for a stadium debut, well OK, but otherwise they need to come on with it. We don't need to be doing unreturned games with non-BCS teams. Other than that, with the exception of a sub-par 2005 football season, we're on the right path, which I believe takes longer than 3-4 years to achieve.

Don't hold your breath. Without a new stadium, it's highly unlikely that we'll ever see Air Force unless we go to Colorado Springs. They'll exercise the buyout clause of the contract; hide and watch.

Of course, there are things (goals) at NT we really do need to exceed, but it's Christmas Week and I'll spare all of you the ramble & rant, fellow grunts & storm-troopers.

I sang in the tenor section in a Christmas cantata last Sunday AM and hosted a Karaoke Christmas party just last night out here in what used to be the Commanche/Kiowa Indian raids section of Parker County, so I am really getting into the spirit of things (which this time of year always seems to mellow most all of us out, now doesn't it)?

For one of many New Year's resolution, I am working on a GMG.com attitude adjustment as I post since I know most all of us really want most of the same things for dear ol' alma mater, but FWIW, I still mostly post not so much for you the registered regulars of this forum, but mostly for those who anonymously lurk from campus and beyond (of which we know by now are apparently numerous).

For certain, I have not changed my feelings for what I feel is a most uncertain future for some areas of UNT athletics and the UNT System, in general, but I will make an honest effort to back off (unless I feel I need to respond to an HSO I vehemently disagree). (So, uh, Harry, with all this now a matter of public record, do I still get the Christmas gift from the Miers' family)?

RV is doing a very good job. Just the fact that so many people give a crap about NT athletics now is testament to the job he has done.
Has anyone on this board ever raised a 95 million dollars? I know I haven't and it seems like a pretty daunting task. Would you rather that he set low expectations for himself?
You can't track profits for GE back to Jack Welch, but I would still say that he is doing a pretty damn good job.
Y'all can blame all you want, but you probably wouldn't even be posting on this board if RV wasn't here.

yes, he was largely responsible for getting it here at NT, which has been one of the biggest things to impact attendance (IMO)

I dont understand the person who argues RV hasnt been a terrific asset to NT, as it doesnt make any sense to me, so please enlighten me.

Im not willing to throw him under the bus for not getting some team I dont care about one way or the other to denton. Having Tulsa, SMU, Baylor and La Tech at home mean more to me than AF ever would.
