After the recent tragedies involving officer Jackson and Officer Nava I thought I would take the time to say something that is not said nearly often enough to police officers and firefighters. THANK YOU. Thank you to all that serve and protect. It is strange that when we are driving 50 in a 40 mph zone, the last person we want to see is a police officer. We cuss and moan and complain about the fine, defensive driving, time off work, etc... But when we are in a car accident or we are being mugged or our house is broken into, the first people we want to see are police officers and firefighters to protect us. When our house is on fire we want to see that firefighter there to help us do what we cannot do on our own. While we are runnig out of the burning building they are running in to unknown danger. These people place their lives on the line every time they put on the uniform. Every time they walk up to a car they have pulled over or knock on a door to serve a warrant, they are in harms way.

The next time you see a police officer or firefighter, stop and say thank you for placing their lives on the line. Shake their hand and let them know that they are appreciated.

Rick, Joey, Emmitt and any others that read this board that I am leaving out, THANK YOU for your sacrifices.
