Responsibilities: Austin College seeks a person with energy, creativity, and football coaching skills to lead its NCAA Division III football program as it joins the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2006. The program boasts a 109 year history of competition in the southern regions of the country. The position is a full time, 12 month appointment reporting directly to the Vice President of Student Affairs and Athletics. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to continue the College’s tradition of balancing a rigorous academic program with the desire to achieve athletic excellence. The head coach will be responsible for directing all aspects of the football program, including but not limited to, recruitment of qualified student-athletes reflecting the undergraduate profile, preparing for competition, and supervision of staff. The finalist will be expected to relate to the academic areas of the College and will/may be requested to teach or assist in administrative activities depending on their skills and background.

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree or greater is preferred. Coaching experience of no less than 5 years is required. Experience as a student-athlete or coach at a non-scholarship, residential, liberal arts and sciences institution is beneficial.
