The survey results from a few months ago are posted on the UNT website (link on the front page).

The only score that was ranked lower in importance than athletics was the renewed emphasis on standarized testing. For the life of me, I can't understand why people don't realize how important a strong athletics department for their institution. Unless you're a top 10 research institution, the athletics program is how most people recognize your school, and how most alumni keep up with their alma mater.

Or maybe they don't realize what a cash cow athletics can be if it is properly managed.

Look past your own noses, people!!! ::frustrated::

The simple answer is; the problem was not with the people who took the survey but how the survey was set-up and interpreted.

There were very few if more than one question on the whole survey that were worded in a way that Athletics would be picked high. There were several questions asked multiple times but worded slightly different. Even if everyone picked athletics high it would never be first or even in the top 5. It was a truly rigged survey, to produce the results the creator of the survey wanted to see. And brother athletics weren't high on his list.
