Adopted players

I just wanted to give a shout out to my adopted Brandon Jackson from my hometown of Sugar Land and HS Fort Bend Austin. He has had a breakout season and is a star in the making. I can't wait till next year to see him lined up opposite Quinn as long as somebody, anybody can get them the ball.

My adopted is Eddrick Gilmore. He has gotten some game experience in his first season. It appears the staff likes him as a deep snapper. I am sure he will work on improving that over the offseason.

Here's hoping he can make a real impact Defensively next season.

Mine is Isaac Thomas, and I applaud him for having a great attitude when he could be down. Medical issues are eventually corrected my friend.

Get your rest now Isaac, cause next year you DOMINATE, brother!!!!!!!! From one Thomas to another...

I have Brandon Monroe...who at times looks great, but can get lost in the mix. I'm looking forward to BM building on his experiences and fully expect him to lead the D next year.

My daughter's Jr. Mean Green buddy is Chad Rose. I really enjoyed getting to meet his parents on Saturday. My daughter slept with the football that Chad and Beau Davidson (her buddy from last year) signed for her on Saturday night! Beau had surgery on his shoulder on Tuesday and still managed to sign Sarah's football. A shout out to both of these guys. A couple of quality young men in the NT program.

Keronna Henderson has finally been getting some time doing FB blocking duties and seems to be doing a good job of it. I'm just surprised they wouldn't give him the ball a little more to actually run it in short yardage situations.

J. Nwigwe seems to have become MP's favorite receiver. Made some pretty sweet catches.

Joel Nwigwe looks great on streak routes. I hope he stays healthy and comes back to be a killer WR along with JQ and the up-and-coming Jackson.

Quick question about the JR MG CLub...I have a little guy who will make his debut next year and more than likely we will join...my question is, do the kids get to meet the players they are assigned to? If so, is there a meet and greet session?

greensteve - there have been some events in the past and I have been told that there will likely be one this year after the season (scheduling problems before and during the season). Most of time what I have done, and several others as well, is to catch the players on the field after the game. CSC caused some problems with that this year but there are ways around it. The players have always been great with my daughter and she loves getting to meet them.

The players are great, but I have yet attend an event where they were assigned a time to meet the kids and this is our 4th year. I know that the so called autograph session in August was flubbed up. The players didn't know they were suppose to stay behind. Still, all the players, when you can catch up to them are fantastic and the Jr. Mean Green Club and Scrappy's Fun Zone at the tailgating event is all my F5 can talk about the week of a game. The kids love Scrappy. Joining the Club is well worth it.
