If you look at the Mean Green front lines I'm not sure it does. How did we get so small up front and why aren't we recruiting more size?

Does size really make a difference? Booger wasn't big and neither was Chris McIver. They were damn good players.

Booger just wasnt tall, but he was BIG. I think that this is just a one year dry spell for the size of the lines. When you look at the DL we are missing Raymond(310) and Thomas(290). Those are two big bodies who were supposed to be clogging up the middle for us this year. Then remember when you look at these weights they are from 5 months ago. For the guys who are freshman and sophmores they can still put on some serious weight in a year. So when you see a guy like Peachy at 6'5 and 270 he still has a lot of weight to put on his frame. You just have to wait to see how these guys fill out. We have some big bodies on both sides, just not enough of them.

Yeah, I really noticed the size problem the other night. On paper, our offensive line is really pretty big. Rose appears to be as advertised, but most of the other guys don't. Our defensive ends just plain look skinny. I think they did a pretty good exaggeration job on our size this year. I hope this is a wakeup call for the strength and conditioning staff. Some of these players need to bunk in the weight room.

Size does matter when you're talking about the running game on both sides of the ball.

Size can be compensated with quickness & strength, but only to a point.

Being able to stop the run hinges on both DT's & the MLB.

NT lacks size at DT & quickness at MLB.
