On the internet video feed, the athletic dept. has an advertisement that shows a bawling child with a patch over his eye with text that reads:

"Don't let this happen to you. Friends don't let friends throw tortillas."

Take notice MGN, you're being watched!

Meager was inept as usual, 18 plays 69 yds no scores, @ TO and at least 1 Delay of Game

Phillips comes in in relief and gets 13 points, 5-7 pasing, no Delay of Games

Also PC looks like gold tonight and Warren and Weathers will be awesome as the years go on.

My wife thought that was the funniest thing she had seen in years. In fact, she was like "throwing tortillas hurts people? - give me a break" At half time they brought out big beach balls for everyone to throw around.

The tortillas only fly after a touchdown or field goal. The beach balls (green, thank God) were a distraction and wern't in response to anything. And look out for the Wendy's T-shirt cannon.

What is the little girl's name. I didn't hear anything about her in the newspaper. Is the injury going to keep her out of school ? I go to all the games and I didn't hear about a little girl being hit and injured by a tortilla.

GO MEAN GREEN

Well I am now really remembering how it was at UNT when I was a student and we did anything.

Basically the lies and the crap run deeper than most people could ever imagine. ph34r.gif

IT IS COMPLETE AND TOTAL BS!

Yes, that was a real girl. The add also appeared on the Jumbotron. Perhaps if you watched "A Christmas Story" you would have a greater appreciation for the potential to "put your eye out."

Try slapping a fellow Mean greener with a tortilla, they sting, however, that add was just absolutely ridiculous.

Must have been the mug shot of the CSC event staff guy that tried to throw Rick out.

I don't know but I did get hit in the ear by a beach ball and now I am having trouble hearing in that ear.

A tortilla rendered me incapable of 'consortium'! This outrage must be stopped!

OK, it wasn't the tortilla. It was the fact I'm going around with 'North Texas' on my car and we lost to ULM.

I thought that ad had to be a gag. They showed it on the scoreboard?

"Um, they're dangerous. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw some kid hideously disfigured by a thrown tortilla pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess that's pretty dangerous. "

It was.  And yes, they showed it on the scoreboard.  I thought it was hilarious.

Rick

It was funny, but not as funny as when the tortillas were thrown for the first time during the game, and I looked at Rick standing on his sit, with his arms crossed, showing the event staff that he wasnt throwing anything.

The fans at Texas Tech began soaking the tortillas in water, then letting them harden in order to get more sailing distance with them. They did become quite dangerous and caused several injuries.Which is why they were outlawed there.

Um, no. They were outlawed when the NCAA made it illegal to throw anything onto the playing surface. This became even more of a problem when Tech moved their stands closer to the field. In our case, that has NEVER happened, and never will.

I think they were just trying to be funny about not throwing tortillas.

I thought the sign was funny, as did most of the people sitting around us... and we know what funny is, so you can trust me. It was in fact funny. Dont believe me? Call TBS, they will tell you if its funny or not. Then you can laugh without wondering, "is this in fact funny"

You'll have to repeat that it was sarcasm over and over again until it clicks for everyone here.
