Flanigan NOT mentioned here.

The list of potential candidates includes Charlie Strong, assistant head coach and co-defensive coordinator at Florida, Notre Dame defensive coordinator Rick Minter, Miami (Fla.) defensive coordinator Randy Shannon, Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Vance Bedford, TCU defensive coordinator Dick Bumpas, Michigan associate head coach Fred Jackson, South Florida offensive coordinator Rod Smith and Connecticut offensive coordinator Norries Wilson. Others who could surface include Erie Community College coach Dennis Greene, Texas offensive coordinator Greg Davis and Northwestern offensive coordinator Mike Dunbar. Manuel didn't give a timetable on the new hire but mid-December is a likely target.

Good find, 61. I would think Buffalo's fans would question a RF pick over some of those mentioned. Maybe salary requirement is a major consideration that would give RF a leg up. It looks like Buffalo's former HC made less than the MAC average and many of the assistants mentioned from BCS schools probably already make close to that. Also, a thread mentioned their poor facilities and tough situation to begin as a HC; not what a lot of BCS assts. have in mind.

That list sounds to me like something put together during a night of binge drinking. When they sober up and realize what they will have to offer someone on that list to come to BUFFALO they will go after the dude being cut loose at Missouri State. They will have to take an intermediate step in coaching talent and hope to have some success before they will be able to attract a good assistant from a big-name program. Only exception I can think of is if there is a deep-pocketed booster behind the AD that is going to fund the deal.

That is one helluva list...I'm interested in several of those guys...particularly the TCU guy, he may have some local connections as far recruiting is concerned.

Mark it down...if that is fact the list, Flanny aint going anywhere. He's here to stay, for awhile anyways. If everyone else on that list was to remove there name, he still wouldnt get that job.

See ya Sat
