Dr. Walter Hodgson, Dean of The School (not College then) of Music spent an entire day helping get job opportunities that allowed me to work my way through NTSC (our name at the time). I got a job washing dishes in Mrs. J.T. Hooneycutt's home (she cooked meals for the Sig Eps, Sigma Nu's and others), I also got a job playing the piano for Social Dance Classes, and got a job working at Blonstein's on the square in Denton (selling shoes and clothes).

I was in the North Texas Marching Band for 4 years (played the BBflat Tuba). It still amazes me, though, that kids on a full-ride scholarship (Joey Byerly, etc) don't make their grades and fail to be eligable to play. We have many players who do make their grades and I am very proud of them.

I will always love North Texas, will never give up on our ability to play with the "big Boys." I had the opportunity to work for the Great Hayden Fry (as the first director of promotions ever at NT). I believe we will win Saturday. I will be there with two of my friends who support Mean Greern Football with every fibre of their being. Look out, Lousiana Tech....The Mean Green will put it all together this weekend. Also, to those going....car caravan anyone?
