Did anyone else notice this in the reports on the FIU game? Does anyone remember a slant pass pattern that NT has run? All I rememb this year is passes out in the flat, roll out passes on the sidelines and the ocassional downfield bomb.

A slant pass would be a welcome sight in this offense. So would a quick pass to the tight end who may be open in the area between the linebackers and the secondary. With what defenses we have faced that the Southern Miss Golden Eagles have inspired every opponent we've had this Fall, some quick hitting (dare I say this?) I'll post it in a yellow almost invisible letter code: west coast offense with more quick release passing might be a good recipe for our offensive play repertoire so our offensive line doesn't have to pass block for as long a period of time thus keeping more defenses in pass coverage areas and with some of those "west coast-style" quick hitting passes maybe we're able to pick up a few more 1'st downs than draw plays seem to have done of late? unsure.gif

Just my .02.

the fact that such a simple, standard pass pattern is shocking when done by this team is very pathetic. go out to the intramural fields and what pattern is run the most? the quick slant because it's an easy pass to complete especially on 3rd and 4, and there's a good chance that the defense will miss flags and it could go for a big gain.

on another note, ea sports has done a great job scouting our team because if i want to pass the ball much at all without just sending JQ on a go route, i have to change the playbook before the game begins.

I believe it. I saw a special on EA on ESPN the other day and they interviewed several of their engineers who talked about all the research that goes into the games. Imagine what the D coordinator at LSU is going to do?

Geez.
