Thoughts for renaming the New Orleans Bowl

The obvious thought is "The Toilet Bowl" - sponsored by Lysol or Tidy Bowl, but here are a few others:

The Depression Bowl - sponsored by US Association of Psychiatrists

The Loser's Bowl - sponsored by NBC's "The Biggest Loser"

The Turkey Bowl - sponsored by US Poultry Industry

The Average Joe Bowl - sponsored by ABC's "The Avergage Joe"

The Ham Bowl - sponsored by Pork - the other white meat

The Hooter's Bowl - sponsored by Hooters - might be the only way to get a TV audience

The Suck Bowl - sponsored by Blow-Pop suckers

It comes from the frustration of being a sh@#ty team in a sh@#ty conference and having sh@#ty excuses about why we suck. How many other conferences can say, year in and year out, that their conference champion is going to a bowl game even though they won zero OOC games??? Yeah, we beat Baylor one year...so what???

We don't deserve to go to the bowl game this year and neither does anyone else in the S(h@#ty) B(ut) C(ontent). We'd just embarrass and humiliate ourlselves further. Besides, we're too young and inexperienced to win a conference title, much less a bowl game.

I thought of another name for the bowl game:

The Trash Can - sponsored by Glad or Hefty...they could bring back that commercial, "Wimpy, wimpy, wimpy" (while showing highlights of the SBC participant) and then "Hefty, hefty, hefty" while showing highlights of the CUSA 4th place team that will win the game.

What a sad thread. No matter how grim OUR season is, why on Earth throw the entire league under the bus. I would love for someone to stand up in the locker rooms of ASU, LAMO, TROY, FLA Atlantic, FIU, LALA, Middle and in Fouts and tell the players that they are losers who play in a loser conference...In fact, lets call up Brandon and Brad to tell them all their efforts were worthless.

I for one will let someone all by themselves read this thread to Demarcus Ware, in a room with padded walls a helmet and good insurance policy.

At the end of the day no one is going to care we didn't win OCC games - check out the WAC and their stellar performance. No need to go Fresno on this site and act like we are someone when we are not. Simply strap it on, line up and play smashmouth with the mouths from Ruston. No matter how the chips fall the Mean Green will live to play another day!

Geez, was life tougher when we couldn't win a 1AA playoff game with no bowl appearances in over 50 years, or now with 4 straight bowl appearances, a rebuilding team and a couple of wins that has us in the thick of another title race?
