#disclaimer: this is NOT a suggestion that we switch to Tech's scheme; I'm just noting how boggling this has got to be#

In Tech's win over K-St yesterday, Hodges threw for SIX HUNDRED AND FOURTY THREE yards. To put that in perspective, he had more yards through the air than we have TOTALLED on offense in our last THREE games combined.

Stick in the Tulsa stat, and we've still only totalled 745.

Our offensive stats, based on a team that has been to four straight bowl games, and has "been getting better recruits each year", should concern and boggle anyone's mind. Frankly, I think our offense is embarrasing. To think we were given 8 extra possessions last night and only scored 13 points is riduculous....but whenever you ask DD about it, he just says "a win is a win".

A few years ago, Tech changed their offensive scheme. They were a run oriented team and with a few good recruits, were able to change to a pass happy offense.

Meager was to state top 5 passer (before an injury). If DD can recruit some sprinters and pass blocking linemen next year, maybe there can be a change. With Cobbs graduating, Thomas will still be in the backfield.

TT scheme sounds OK to me! Mediocre programs can suddenly appear on the national map if they can make it work. I say let's start moving in that direction and give it a try. The "Flying Mean Green Eagles" sounds good to me. A high powered pass oriented offense could not only be more beneficial to our program than a nice new stadium, but it could actually RESULT in a nice new stadium. Of course none of this is possible with our current coaching philosophy.
