At the beginning of this season, I never would have dreamed the outcome of this week's game would be in question.

If we win this game by anything fewer than 10 points, then I'm going to be really disappointed. We simply HAVE to win this game or this program will suffer it's biggest set-back in five years.

I'm going out on a limb and saying UNT wins tomorrow. ph34r.gif

To do that, the OL and DL are going to have to bring it, the WR's are going to have to show up, and Meager is going to have to grow up fast.

Bazaldua will be a factor.

I just don't know where more than 10 points comes from. I think our defense gets us some, but we need to score to win. You throw in the fact it is a road game and I am "hoping" for a good outcome, but not betting on it.

Well, that's just the number I have in mind. Would you expect us to beat a D-II school by less than 10 points? I view FIU as only a few steps higher than a D-II school.

No worries. We will stomp FIU into a mud hole tomorrow. It's like playing a JV team. The offense will all be on the same page. JQ will have a long touchdown. PC will get over 100 yards. All will be good in Mean Green Land until La Tech. We will have one week of feeling good about ourselves. FIWho?

Excellent!! That's the kind of confidence I like to see. I certainly hope we can get our running game going. ASU had two back with 100+ yards so we should definitely be able to equal that.

I took a quick look at some stats and results and, unfortunately, I don't see things getting any better for us this week.  I see more struggles on offense, leaving the defense on the field too long.  Eventually, the defense will tire and FIU's passing attack takes its toll.  Hope I'm wrong.

      I know this is a popular narrative here, but I'm not so sure. Morris hits on one QB (Ward) and he's some sort of QB savant? Not sold on that...yet, but I'm a hard grader. How much coaching did he really do with Rodgers and Morris? Both QBs were already 95%+ fully developed in their games. What specifically did coach Morris change about their skill sets or did he just turn them loose to do their thing? They just needed a place to play and coach Morris provided that, but Rogers wasn't even named the starter until game three. So much for identifying talent. Don't we have a dedicated QB coach responsible for coaching QBs? As head coach, Morris has a lot of other responsibilities. And how hard is it to "discover" QBs in the portal? I mean you just have to sort on position and scroll. Also, I thought QB Morris sought us out looking for a place to play that matched his style so he could parlay that into an NIL offer (which I'm fine with and how we are going to survive BTW).

'20-21 - Chipola JC. - averaged 6.1ppg '21-22 - UNT - played in 11 games and scored a total of 12 points '22-23 - UNT - the odd redshirt your second year '23-24 - Salt Lake City CC - averaged 10.5ppg '24-25 - Montana State - 5.3ppg in 29 games and that's a resume that lands you a scholarship at a former national champion. fair play to Bryce for keeping a college career going and getting to see a large swath of the US doing it
